Political Support for Open Door Centre

The breakthrough that we have been waiting for has finally happened.
Politicians have come on board, and are now supporting the development of the Old Garda Station as an amenity to be kept in public ownership for the people of Buncrana.

If you are a member of an existing group in Buncrana, make sure that your group is represented in the plan.
If you want to start a new group, now is the time to put your ideas forward for inclusion.

All existing and new groups are welcome to join this exciting venture.
It will mark a progressive change for the town and help the people of Buncrana to build on the existing community structures that are already in place and being these ideas forward.
In recent weeks, you may have heard on radio of Old Garda Stations around the country being re-imagined as community centres etc. And bring responsible for injecting new life into communities, it also gives the government an opportunity to support Buncrana and it’s people after a difficult period of ten years or more.

This project is for ALL the people of Buncrana, no sectional interests should be allowed to dominate it, that is why a broad representation of people and community groups are necessary to ensure that no minority or groups of people are excluded from participating and benefiting from it.
We need an A4 page from interested people and groups, to lay out their stall and to make their ideas known to us, for inclusion in the formation of a way forward.
A lot of work needs to be done and we are only on the first rung of the ladder.
