It is with profound regret that I must inform you that the death has taken place of the most wonderful natural beauty spot in Buncrana locally known as “around the river”.
This was by far, a place of outstanding beauty, now demised, leaves us with an irreplaceable void. Many people will recall the immense pleasure they encountered strolling through Swan’s Park and the peaceful surroundings therein.
Many will have deep fond memories of days of youthful frolicking and budding courtships brought to fruition on warm summer evenings.
Alas with this parting, we will no more have the opportunities to cherish the simple pleasures of our natural rugged riverside but will be inflicted with a grotesque monument that is found in all graveyards.
“Why did we not see this manicured abomination coming.” ?
Why did we allow these destructive moronic excuses of planners / engineers to intrude in the restoration of Swan’s Park. ? They are the grim-reapers of our natural environs and must be taken to heel before further devastation. Can this be reversed or as in all death, simply beyond recovery.
