Irish Wildlife Trust report that in Lough Swilly, the now rare native oyster is threatened by the spread of the invasive Pacific oyster which escaped from oyster farms in the area.

Locals have been saying this for years but government is not listening.

Oyster farming and farming in general, takes precedence over the health of the population and the eco-system
